Governing Board

Rev. Dr. Gil Stafford


The Rev. Dr. Gil Stafford is the Canon Theologian for the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona and Priest-in-Charge at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Litchfield Park. Gil’s grandsons attend St. Peter’s Montessori school. Gil previously served as the president of Grand Canyon University. He had also been the university’s head baseball coach, winning three national titles. Life is a pilgrimage. He has taken many, including walking Ireland coast-to-coast. Stafford’s publications include works on higher education, leadership and spirituality, and his latest book, When Leadership and Spiritual Direction Meet: Reflections and Stories for Congregational Life, (Alban Institute, Rowman & Littlefield, June 2014).



Carter L. Willson, III is a founding member of St. Peter's, having joined in 1965 while it was still a Mission. He left for college and later joined the Air Force, returning to Litchfield Park as a "snowbird" for many years. Retiring from government service, he and his wife Gail recently relocated from Idaho to Litchfield Park. A historian, Carter owns and operates a genealogy research company, and under gubernatorial appointment served 10 years as chairman of the Idaho State Historical Records Board. Carter has served on numerous non-profit boards, including more than 25 years with his local scout council and as a representative to the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America.


Vice President

Pat Hoover has been a member of St. Peter's since 2008. She had a fulfilling career in Human Resources with high tech and healthcare organizations for twenty+ years. When disability prevented fulltime work in 1996, she began to volunteer with Hospice of the Valley for 15 years. Pat has served St. Peter's by starting-up and facilitating several House Church groups, initiating the Mother/Daughter teas, coordinating several Easter Vigil Dinners, and serving as Lector and Chalice Bearer. Pat joined the School Board in 2016.



Jaclynn Anderson has been an active member of St. Peter's parish since 2010 and has three children at St. Peter's Montessori. Jaclynn leads St. Peter's Cook for Kids outreach team at the New Life Center. She also supports St. Peter's social media presence. Previously, Jaclynn served as the Director of Marketing for the American Red Cross, Grand Canyon Chapter. Jaclynn holds an MBA from Arizona State University. She currently works as a technology research editor in the financial services industry.



Kristin Roman has been a member of St. Peter's since 2014 and has two children at St. Peter's Montessori. She is currently the President of the school's Parents Auxiliary. Kristin currently works as a Risk Assurance Director for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and holds a Masters of Accountancy and Information Systems from Arizona State University. Kristin joined the School Board in 2015.


Board Member

Jackie Abel and her husband Frank moved from Chicago to Arizona eventually residing in Pebble Creek and becoming members of St. Peter’s. While in Chicago, Jackie was an administrator in the Department of Nursing with responsibility for all the non-clinical operations including finance and personnel. After moving to Arizona, she and her husband operated their own Sales Rep Business until retirement. Currently she is a member of the Finance Committee for the church and is the representative from that committee to the School Board.


Board Member

Deborah Bamonte has attended St. Peter's since 2013. She has two grown children and two grandchildren. Deborah has been a public school educator in Arizona for 20 years. She holds a BA in Applied Social Relations from Eastern Connecticut State University and a MA in Educational Administration from Arizona State University. She holds a State of Arizona K-8 Teaching Certificate as well as a K-12 Principal Certificate. She is an active volunteer in her community and mentors with Arizona's Aid for Special Kids.


Board Member

Bob is a retired school administrator with 38 years of experience in Connecticut and Rhode Island. He was selected as the School Administrator of the year in Rhode Island for 2004. Bob, a widower, is a snow bird, having homes in Rhode Island and the West Valley. He has three children and four grandchildren.
